Orangery Kitchen is a home-based cultural and cooking experience hosted in Nara, Japan. It is not a commercial cooking school or restaurant, but an opportunity to experience Japanese hospitality, food, and culture in a private home setting.

• Advance reservation is required.
• Bookings are arranged by email.
• Full payment is required to confirm your booking.
• All classes are conducted in English. Masumi has a extensive experience hosting international guests.
• Recipes and menus vary according to the season and ingredient availability.
• Our experience are designed for guests aged 16 and over. Special family workshops may occasionally be available on selected dates.
• Due to the nature of a home kitchen, we cannot guarantee accommodation of food allergies. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking and we will advise whether the experience is suitable for you.
• Complimentary transportation between the designated meeting point and Orangery Kitchen is included.
• Once cooking is complete, guests may enjoy their meal indoors or in the garden under the pergola, weather permitting.
• In the event of rain or unsuitable weather conditions, the experience will take place indoors. 
• Citrus picking is available only during harvest season and subject to weather and crop conditions.
• The exact meeting point, directions, and arrival instructions will be provided after booking confirmation.
• Photos may occasionally be taken during the experience for promotional purposes. Please let us know in advance if you prefer not to appear in photographs.

Booking and Payment

A booking is considered confirmed only after full payment has been received. 

Payment is accepted via PayPal invoice unless otherwise agreed.

Once payment has been confirmed, detailed information regarding the meeting point and venue will be provided.

All bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Changes and Cancellation by Orangery Kitchen

Orangery Kitchen reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify a confirmed experience due to unforeseen circumstances, illness, severe weather, or other factors beyond our control.

In such cases, guests will receive a full refund of any payments made directly to Orangery Kitchen.

Guest Cancellation Policy

Payment is fully refundable if cancellation notice is received at least 7 days before the scheduled experience date.

For cancellations made 3ー6 days before the scheduled date, 50% of the payment will be refunded. 

For cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled start time, no refund will be provided.

We understand that travel plans can sometimes change.  If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible.

Subject to availability, we may offer a transfer to another date or issue a voucher for future use.

No refunds, transfers, or vouchers will be issued in the case of a no-show.

Late Arrival

Guests are requested to arrive on time and no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled meeting time.

If you expect to be delayed, please contact us as soon as possible by email or phone. 

If your delay exceeds 15 minutes, we may ask you to take a taxi from the station to the venue at your own expenses.

If  we receive no communication and are unable to contact you, your booking may be treated as a no-show and your payment forfeited one hour after the scheduled start time.

Liability

Cooking experiences involve the use of kitchen equipment, knives, heat, and other potential hazards.

Guests participate at their own risk and are expected to exercise reasonable care and caution.

Orangery Kitchen shall to be held liable for any loss, injury, accident, or damage to guests or their personal property, except where required by applicable law.
